What's the best broadband deal without phone line in the UK?

I am looking for home broadband, I already have a Telewest broadband box but it was disconnected after the last tenant moved out. I don't want a phone line and ideally just want the cheapest package available. Is this possible without paying a connection fee, and what's the best deal?

To have home broadband in a non-fibre optic area, I MUST pay for a phone line?

I'm new to the UK and I'm trying to figure out how to set up my home broadband. I've checked and my new flat is not in a fibre optic area. So, does that mean in order to get broadband, I am forced to pay for a phone line, which is approximately £10/month?

I am at present with Virgin and seem to paying too much compared to others I have looked at.
Another problem I have is that I don't have a B.T. land line, only the virgin cable. How do I stand with that? Do I have to pay for a land line to be installed?

how do I set up a belkin asdl modem with G router on Orange broadband?
I have had nothing but trouble with the orange speed touch modem, so now I am going to try a belkin. Orange uses the PPPoE set up so I have to put in my user name, password and the telephone number of Orange. In the instructions it says put 0 in for the telephone number, is this right?
