  1. Bought this phone today and will be returning it tomorrow for a refund. Reasons (though mine may just be faulty):

    - Though the dial tone is present, it doesn’t dial out when buttons are pressed (ie calls can’t be made).

    - The LCD display originally came on but has now completely failed.

    - The user guide doesn’t have a trouble shooting section.

    - When the ear piece volume is on high, there’s a lot of feedback resulting in a high pitch sound.

    - The buttons are on the one side of the handset but the display is on another.

  3. I am very disappointed with this product! I bought it as a phone for the bedroom. The instructions for setting te phones’ functions is not particularly good, but the main problem is the size of the display screen. It is far too small and nigh on impossible to read the time and other information contained on the screen, hence te title Has anyone got a magnifying glass? I have given up and now just use the phone without the use of the screen. All that can be seen is 88888888888, as the numerals on the screen are too small and therefore not adequately defined. Might as well have bought a very plain phone without any functions. The phone however, is a good size and is pleasant to hold and use.

  4. Swift delivery and exactly as described. Ok, so it may not have top of the range capability, but it serves its purpose perfectly…. and you get what you pay for. Well satisfied.

I agree with the comments elswhere that the display is very poor. Even though you can adjust the contrast, the recessed display with highly reflective curved window makes it hard to read unless the light and the phone are at exactly the right angle. It would have been much better with a backlight. The display contrast also varies with battery type. When I first replaced regular AA cells with rechargable ones (Uniross Hybrio) I thought the phone wasn’t working at all because the display appeared blank. But after adjusting the display contrast I realised the phone was working after all.

I also dislike the fact that the only way to stop the “calls light” flashing is to step through (review) all the calls in the log one at a time. (not easy given the poor display). There is a delete all calls function, but this won’t delete calls you haven’t reviewed. Also if you recieve multiple calls from the same no it apparently only stores the most recent details.

    Highly visible flashing message light

General good quality appearance, and (to me) the sound quality seems good

Easy wall mounting, providing you turn the phone hook around (as stated in the instructions)

    Verdict

It’s a pretty cheap phone so it’s not surprising it’s go limitations.
