Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped

Amazon.co.uk Review
Crash Bandicoot, the poster marsupial for PlayStation, is back. In this third instalment of the popular action-game series, Dr N. Trophy has built a time machine to collect the gems and crystals dropped by Dr Neo Cortex. Joining this dastardly group is Dr Cortex’s boss Uka Uka, a freaky floating mask that is out to crush Crash. It is up to Crash and his sister, Coco, to conquer this threatening threesome and grab the goodies.Offering 25 levels of challenging solo action the game takes full advantage of the dual shock controller, and its vibration feature, which is especially fun when a dinosaur is chasing Crash. The music is appropriate to the action and the controls are easy to use. But it’s the graphics that make this a stand-alone title. A team of artists worked on this game to design seamless movement that is more like an interactive cartoon than a game.Novice gamers will enjoy this title for its ease of movement and challenging gameplay. I haven’t played this game for some time, as now I have a computer, and before that an xbox 360.

I borrowed it from a friend a few years ago. I loved it! The game has a feeling unlike any other platformer, its so much better than the new crash bandicoot games… which are going the may everything is now….. big monsters etc. This game however, had great graphics for its time, and the vairiaty in the levels is great, with only a few I didn’t like (The motor cycle levels) BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!

Also, I have found a way to put it on pc, so I’m happy!

I love these games, and this one especially – after each boss you get a new ability (double jump, flying spin, etc.). This Crash game is harder than the 2nd but a bit easier than the 1st, and you can play as Coco on a few of the levels, though only ones where shes using a mode of transport (such as a little one-man aeroplane and her pet tiger). There are still some ‘hidden’ levels which require a certain number of time trial relics (oh yeah – that’s new too!).

I would always recommend this game.

The title of this review says it all. You’re not a true Crash fan unless you have played this game. Naughty Dog has taken the best of Cortex Strikes Back and produced a better storyline, better graphics, better music, and better gameplay. The new relic component is very good and is addictive, especially as it is almost impossible to get platinum times on most levels.

Each level is funny and different and it does not get at all repetitve, giving this game amazing replay value – I have owned this game for about 8 years and have completed it many times, and I still find myself starting all over again as if I have never played it before.

As with the other Crash games, the graphics are not as good as Nintendo, but they are bright and good enough for you not to bother when you are playing.

This is the best platformer ever released on the Playstation. Enough said.

  5. And so with great success coming from the widely adventure Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes back, comes another platform Playstation 1 game, Crash Bandicoot 3! And yes, like Crash Bandicoot 2, I was determined to get Crash Bandicoot 3 when it was released!

I’ve completed Crash Bandicoot 3 many times before and when I got back from our holiday in September 2006; I thought I better start on Crash Bandicoot 3 since I completed Crash Bandicoot 2 in August! Now unlike the other two games, Crash Bandicoot 3 took me longer to complete, I thought it will only last me for 2 weeks, but it took me until Christmas 2006 to get the game done! But alas, I enjoyed every step of the way and I had a few laughs or two!

Many people believe that Crash Bandicoot 3 is the best selling Crash Bandicoot game to date! In reality, it’s actually Crash Bandicoot 2 as it has currently sold 7.6 Million Copies, whereas Crash Bandicoot 3 has currently sold 7.1 Million Copies! Despite this minor setback though, Crash Bandicoot 3 is still the 2nd best selling Crash Bandicoot game of all time!!

Crash Bandicoot 3 mostly takes graphics from Crash Bandicoot 2; so most players will be familiar with the buttons used on Crash Bandicoot 3! Although, Crash will learn new and handy moves for the future levels which lie ahead!

I hope you still got that Memory Card packed inside that CD Case because Crash Bandicoot 3 gives you more than just a challenge! You’ve got to collect 25 Crystals, 45 Gems & 25 all new racing Relics!

I’ve had a few laughs with Crash Bandicoot 3 and there’s just so many new features built in. I bet you’ many people would agree that Crash goes well on his Motorbike! And his sister as well plays a good part in the game too!

My Personal Gaming Score: 10/10: Fantastic, Brilliant, Superb!

My Wish: I’d like to see Sony designing a Playstation 2 game, which has all of the original Crash Bandicoot games in one pack (Crash 1, Crash 2, Crash 3, CTR etc)!

Final Comments: It would be mean of me giving Crash Bandicoot 2 full marks and Crash Bandicoot 3 a little bit less, so I even the odds out and gave them both a whack on 10! You’ve done very impressive Naughty Dog! We are proud of you!
