How do I connect to unprotected wifi in my apts? Ip timeout?

I have found a 60% wifi signal within my apt that is not protected according to my ps3. But when I try to connect to it, after a few minutes it tells me that the attempt to find the ip address timed out. Is there any way I can find out what the ip address is? I want their wifi!!! Please Help!

    "CommView for WiFi"

Now if you got a Compitible Wireless Card… You will see MAC,IP,Last Connection, Packets, Signal Strenght, And much more in this software… This is only Windows based software for WiFi packet capturing i love… There are many in Linux

When ever you wan't to search information about WiFi or Wireless Networks Hacks & Security…. search in any Search Engine like Yahoo,Google,Live for this word " Wardrive "

Now we talk about IP Time out…
This is couse of MAC control enabled on that unprotected WiFi. So WiFi router not asigning IP to your connection. There is something MAC Spooffing on Internet search for that may be your problem resovled…

If you think my awnser is Helping for you. Don't forget to select this awnser as best…

    Thanks!

Looks like the owner turned off DHCP on his router to keep interlopers off of his system. If he's smart enough to do that, he's probably smart enough to re-IP the LAN side of his router as well. Unless you know the IP schema that he's using, and there are literally tens of thousands of possibilities, there's no way that you're getting on it.
