How do you get rid of a mobile phone virus?

I have a samsung E900 and i keep recieving the same text message about 10 times a day,ive asked the person to delete it from their phone and she has,but the text still keeps coming.When i try to delete it my battery power goes right down and the phone freezes.Its ok for any other message.

    that sounds like a network issue, ask your pal, to phone her service provider.. if you still suspect a virus, connect phone to computer with usb lead, and virus scan it…x

    This isn’t a virus on your phone causing this, it’s a network issue. When an text message is submitted it is stored on a server (called the SMSC – Short Message Service Centre). This then forwards the message either to a different network or the phone and waits for an acknowledgement, if for some reason that acknowledgement isn’t received it will be re-sent time and time again until the network receives a delivery successful message. I am guessing you are on different networks, and possibly in relatively poor coverage, which may explain why the message is being received numerous times by you.

    Samsung E900 is not a Symbian phone. There are no viruses for it (nor anti-virus programs, for that matter). Your problem is definitely not caused by a virus.

    Oh, and you can’t scan your phone for viruses by connecting it to the PC via USB cable, as the other answerer suggested.
