How to tell if i am running a winmodem, before i install Linux?

I am running a toshiba laptop, Windows Home
Im wanting to install linux, but I need to know if I am running a winmodem, before I install it.
I know that winmodem does not support winspire linux
Does anyone know how I can find out?

Depends on how old the laptop is…. The Winmodem came and went pretty fast…. Without knowing the model of your laptop I cannot say for sure…
