I bought this primarily for in my caravan and for holidays and what a great buy it is. It has a good sound quality and is very easy to fit in your luggage without taking up too much space or weight. I’m not sure if the suround sound is necessary or adds anything to the overall quality of sound but hey, it’s optional. I like it.

I purchased this after reading many other reader reviews and this speaker dock replaces an older version of the same. It is much smarter, somewhat louder and the remote control is a nice touch. (You can browse the ipod menu, change album, volume, etc with it).
It doesn’t handle bass as well as I would have liked but for a kitchen audio system it is more than worth investing in this.
One point to also note, it does not come with any base plates for use around the connection and my i-pod video 30gb didn’t come with one, therefore it is a tad ‘floppy’ when in situe. Not unusable but a little nuisance all the same.

Small and space saving but doesn’t come with all the necessary bits. You cannot charge your ipod whilst in the universal dock as it covers up the connection. You can buy the correct bit of plastic from the Apple store but it is about £10 incl delivery. The istation instruction manual states that the correct docking plate is supplied with your ipod / iphone but it wasn’t with either of mine.
Another thing that I find annoying is that the sound goes really weird when you turn it to its lowest settings.
Worth looking at other speaker docks.
