I purchased tickets for the third preview of this show – and having sat through the most awful music, lyrics and plot, I really cannot recommend purchasing the soundtrack. I would urge any customer to listen to any available previews of the individual songs before buying. The music is very different from that in Lloyd-Webber’s earlier musicals (which could be expected) but is certainly nowhere near the standard of the original Phantom score – the much hyped “Till I hear you sing” being a rare exception.
This only gets one star because there is no lower or worse option!

I will pre-order the CD. I first heard the title music ‘Love Never Dies’ well over 10yrs ago when Andrew Lloyd Webber embarked on the full score for the musical. Lloyd-Webber accorded Dame Kiri Te Kanawa the privilage of 1st singing ‘Love Never Dies’ at his 50th Birthday which I taped on VHS and still have. Having learned the words I have been desperately waiting on the arrival of the vocal score. I have booked to see the musical in April which I am sure will be as popular as Phantom.

Saw the show at a preview in London on 26th February 2010, really disappointed, as a sequel to the phantom of the opera, the story and the music are really poor in comparison. I can only suggest you listen to this before buying. I nearly pre-ordered this item because I thought it would be as good as the phantom and it is not in the same league. I will not be purchasing this CD and would never pay money to see the show again.
Shame about the show, acting and staging was really good, let down by the music and story line. Andrew Lloyd Webber must be too busy with making TV shows to bother writing good music any more.
Incidentally the lady sitting next to me in the theatre raved about how good the show was, so some people must like it. The only thing was she kept on about the sets rather than the music.

I have not seen the show yet, but I ordered the CD because I love Andrew Lloyd Webber’s music. I am delighted with the CD. I think that the music is outstanding, very dramatic, tuneful and full of emotion. It must be a wonderful experience to hear it played live in the theatre, so I hope to see the show soon. I have also enjoyed following the story on the CD.
