I bought this radio with the intension of using it as a bedroom alarm clock. But unfortunately it completely fails at this task! The clock display is too small and too bright for a bedroom. The alarm options are good though.
As a DAB radio it is really good, however, I’m not convinced by the wi-fi setting. It seems to take a huge amount of bandwidth (while listening on the wi-fi setting, my PC internet connection becomes slow) It also seems to buffer (pauses) every 30 secs or more.
These could be issues with my broadband service and maybe I can do something with my connection settings.
All in all, this could be a much better clock radio, but it’s ok as a just a radio.

Just about to return this to Advanced MP3 players for the 3rd time having just come back from Revo ‘fixed’. Suffice to say it isn’t. A nice design let down by poor implementation & no firmware updates. Advanced MP3 players very good service though.

This review is short. I work in communications so, get your internet connection as high as possible (higher the better on UHF frequencies). No phone line? EASY advice on the internet. The radio was set up in 15 minutes from opening the box. You will be all day choosing which radio stations though. A brilliant radio which will be wasted in a bedroom. If you have internet problems, honestly, it’s not the radio its internet connections or heavy usage that are the problem (sort them out first). I hope this helps everyone who is thinking of getting one. FM good, DAB brilliant, as is the wifi, as i said before a really good set.

On the face of it, a clock radio that does wifi and DAB sounds ace. However, it’s just a mixed bag of mediocrity.
The alarm clock needs several keypresses to enable and disable – awkward if you wake up before the alarm and want to turn it off before it wakes anyone else.
The display is always on, varying between quite bright and very bright (for a clock radio) or not bright enough (if it’s daytime). No option to turn off the backlight. At least the buttons don’t beep when you press them.
It has handy RCA (red and white stereo connectors) on the back, to repurpose it as a DAB for your hifi setup, but frustratingly it has no aerial input – so you need to rely on the fold up aerial to get the DAB signal.
Forget the wifi unless the moon is Venus and your router is within a couple of metres, and all the security is off. It’s supposed to support WPA2, but I can’t get it to hold a connection for more than five minutes without needing to reset it and the router, regardless of which security I use.
I’ve owned mine for 8 months now, and I’m about to RMA it again as some sort of wifi component seems to go wrong (I know that doesn’t sound very techy, but I’ve replaced routers, tried it at other people’s houses – no joy).
Only bright ray is that Revo support are really great and helpful. Maybe I just got a dud one twice.

I have to admit, it was an impulsive purchase. All in all, any old second hand portable PC would have been much better. The Radiostation has no battery, the display is awful, the wi-fi range is pathetic, it’s so slow in locking onto any station and it drops them as fast as it can. I am NOT impressed.
I’ve gone back to using my trusty wi-fi speaker that picks up from a small transmitter plugged into the PC speaker socket.
