I am serious. and if theres a debate on witch ones better, why is it always Mac vs windows, NEVER windows vs Linux…. Why is Linux roughly 0.97% of the computer market verses roughly 89.00% people use Windows……. Explain that.

third link down :( blue host evil

Excuse me, I saw no restart, and I did see Ubuntu running inside Windows, so, get YOUR head out of YOUR ass and re-watch the video, in fact, this post makes me think you didn’t watch it at all.
    Think before you post, please.

  4. CogitoErgoCogitoSum says:

The third link doesnt work. Where do I get an OS file?

  5. CogitoErgoCogitoSum says:

Why is that ridiculous? Obviously you didn’t read the title of the video: “Run Linux Inside Windows”. Your ‘method’ doesn’t achieve that. Your method requires a restart. Which is precisely what this video is intended to avoid! So congrats on ignoring whats in front of you and embarrassing yourself.

if the third link is dead try easyvmx
    Google Search:EasyVMX

But it’s still a fact. I just feel we shouldn’t fool the average guy that Linux is exactly equivalent to Windows. You give up a lot of plug-and-play when you go down that road…

  8. Z80Fan says:

I think you mean 100 MegaBitsPerSecond (mbps) ;-)

  9. Z80Fan says:

Linux never born as an windows alternative. It was a school project of a student (Linus Torvalds) that interested lot of people that (for free) made of Linux the OS we know today.

  10. Z80Fan says:

Do you want to know why Linux hasn’t got drivers? Because hardware manufactures doesn’t make them! If ATI or nVidia make a better driver for Linux and Crytek uses OpenGL instead of DirectX, Crysys would work on Linux! The same: if Adobe would get money for porting Photoshop on Linux Distributions, it will do it.
    (sorry for poor english)

  11. Z80Fan says:

Because Wubi doesn’t make a virtual machine that runs on windows, you have to reboot to start Ubuntu.

  12. mancole96 says:

    Every OS has bugs.

I’ve actually run in to more problems in Ubuntu than I ever have in Vista.

    I guess it’s because I’m a linux noob.

  13. mancole96 says:

    Why not just use Wubi?

  14. jannelund78 says:

What’s ridiculous about this is that he installs a virtual environment just to run a CD image. Burn it to a CD and restart the computer and you have the same result, a virtual windows run from CD!!!!

  15. jannelund78 says:

Linux is basically ONLY good for server applications (ssh, web, j2ee, scp, ftp, …)

Windows is FAR more useful. Linux doesn’t have Photoshop, huge lack of drivers, distributions are even incompatible with each other and more time is spent on configuring the system than actually using it.

    Windows = Usage
Linux = server apps + configuration nightmare

custom . nimblex . net costumize linux

I agree. The only thing cool are the effects, but everything else is shit.

  18. matt040287 says:

Well, I wouldn’t say Linux sucks. I do, however, rely heavily on Windows. I wouldn’t be able to switch to Linux. But I’ve never used Linux, so I can’t say anything. People just say Linux sucks when they’ve never tried to learn it. =)

But the majority of the largely-demanded softwares are also developed for Windows. I know Linux can run some Windows-based applications (correct me if I’m wrong). But MS just made their name first.

  23. ninjabeirut says:

wtf, people who says windows is better than linux is an idiot, windows got buggs like hell! LINUX FTW!!!!

  24. AllHaiLKINGT says:

linux is fucking gay. Worst software I’ve ever used. “OH IT’S OPEN SOURCE” Who cares? Whoever would wanna make anything even somewhat similar to any linux distributions is a complete moron.

  25. fishcomputer33 says:

because linux isnt owned by one company. Its a free operating system. Linux is faster and alot more stable then windows. What i dont get is if its free why doesn’t schools and businesses use linux more? Its kinda because Microsoft made it so theres only web sites u can go to with IE (use fire fox ;) and everything is locked into them with certain software. It’s not that just because its not popular means it sucks its because microsoft became more popular some how and everyone uses them.
