I am buying a burnished gold (not like gold lame, much duller) shift dress to wear to a wedding but have no idea what colour accessories, shoes or bag would go best, I was thinking black but then I changed my mind… I have no idea? Thanks

Wear black shoes because it will go well with a gold dress. Accessories could have a dab of gold in it, but black as the main colour.

Either try and match the colour of your dress, or go for the safe option, silver. At least with silver you’d be able to match it with other outfits.

perhaps a comfortable pair of “dullish silver” a sort of not so bright would contrast very well, with a hand bag the same as the shoes.

black “wow” are you contemplating suicide?

    not silver and not gold.
possibly black accessories and black shoes.
sometimes gold is enough of metallic on its own so you could try no accessories and black shoes.
