When people ring my phone, it goes straight to answerphone even when its on! On mobile network, 3.?

I’m on the mobile network, 3, and have always got bad signal with them, but I’ve began to realise that it won’t let some calls get through to my phone, it will take them straight to answer phone.
Has anyone else experienced this?
How do I fix it?

Its so annoying, because some people just think my phone is always off!

I have the same problem but I am on o2.

The weird thing is, reception is very good but even then calls go straight to answer phone and charges 20p for the person calling!

No idea how to fix this though. These networks are terrible!

It could be a case of network traffic! Do you live in a densely populated area? Are there lots of cellphone users around you? Congestion can cause incoming calls to go directly to Answering service!
